Neil Moore
I am a figurative painter based in the UK. Although I appreciate many aspects of life, it is only people that I love and that I continue to be fascinated by. Unlike many painters I don’t see things and want to paint them. My imagery arises out of my life experience (either directly or vicariously from the arts and media) and is always metaphorical.
If you are interested in purchasing or exhibiting my artwork, please note that I don’t do commissions or repeat images.
To the right (or above, if you are viewing this on your phone) you will see news of my current exhibition together with the ‘back story’ to the painting.
Below are a few examples of my paintings and drawings. I hope they will interest you enough to find out more about me and my artworks.
“Depression”, oil on canvas, 70 x 50 cms.
The painting above is currently on show at the Art Room until saturday 4th October 2025. The Art Room gallery has been set up by a group of artists in my hometown of Leamington Spa in the UK. to promote the arts within our local community by creating exhibitions and holding workshops in both the fine arts and crafts.
This painting was inspired by one of my models who initially was what I call a ‘clothes hanger’ (ie. someone used for information to enable me to paint an idea that I am working on). Having learnt about her own, very difficult life, more and more of my paintings began to be about her. She has a mental health condition (an eating disorder) and sometimes the sadness of her situation overwhelms her.
